Please note the below information relates to how we function normally. Due to Covid 19 please refer to the news and home pages for the latest information. At present we are not offering any coaching and cannot accept new members.
We are a target rifle shooting club mainly shooting .22 live rounds but also have an air gun section. We've got approximately 45 (plus) members, including juniors, male and female shooters, and compete in both postal national and county competitions and against other clubs in Cornwall. We'd be more than happy for you to come along to the club - whether you've previously shot or are a novice at the sport. Whilst the club (and individual shooters) have won both national and local competitions, most important of all we are keen to simply encourage shooters to shoot to the best of their ability.
We are open on Tuesdays (n.b. please check the calendar in the summer as we now do not offer a regular summer Tuesday opening), Wednesdays and Fridays - although Friday evenings are dedicated to beginners and juniors when we are able to offer coaching. We often have a waiting list of prospective new members so please contact us via this website first if you want to join. Fridays are usually open from 7.00 pm or earlier in the summer months for outdoor shooting - please check the calendar. Air gun (.177) is shot on a Monday evening. The .22lr ammo is approx £4 for a box of 50 rounds, and the .177 air pellets are cheaper.
Due to Home Office Regulations, you would need to join the club before you are able to handle any of the rifles (we have all necessary club equipment, inc rifles, slings, jackets, etc) - we would need a half an annual subscription which would be £25 (or £12.50 for juniors, full time students, Senior Citizens over 70 and registered disabled), if you try it and think it's not for you we would give this back to you at the end of the evening. The range officer would be able to complete the relevant paperwork on the evening. Following the 6 month probation period and subject to approval of the Committee (and regulated checks with Devon and Cornwall Police) the remainder of the subscription would be due.
