SHOOTING RULES FOR THE INDOOR RANGE
Only .22 subsonic rim-fire rifle and subsonic ammunition or .177 target air rifles and pistols to be used on the range.
The Range Warden is in overall charge of the proceedings and may delegate the range officer’s duty for a specific detail. In the absence of a range officer on the range the left hand firing point will be that of the range officer and the person shooting there should be the most senior shooter on the range.

Eating is not allowed on the firing point and you are advised not to drink. Smoking is not allowed on the range or indoors

First Aid is in the Office
The nearest landline telephone is at the Malpas Estate Roundabout
The nearest Hospital is The Royal Cornwall at Treliske, Truro.
The fire exits / escapes are via the main door and at the left hand side of the butts.
The electricity trip master switch is in the entrance lobby. Also in the range by the door, is a switch that affects the range lights. It also actives the emergency lights in the range

The Range Officer will be responsible for ensuring:
- Safety on the range. (The handling of firearms, the use of breech flags at all times, the safe changing of targets or the safe handling of air weapons as appropriate)
- The good conduct of shooters and any disputes.
- The wearing of ear defenders which is mandatory on the firing point for .22 rifles.
- The extractor fan is on when live firing.
- The range is fit for shooting as well as being left clean and tidy.
- Stopping shooting at any time for safety reasons with the command CEASE FIRING and / or the blowing of a whistle.
- In an emergency or accident shooting is to cease immediately and the Range Officer is to take the necessary action and to involve the Range Warden as soon as possible.
- Only with the Range officer’s permission other non-shooters (coaches, officials and spectators) are allowed on the firing point.
All those shooting must:
- Handle their rifle / pistol safely at all times.
- Never point a rifle / pistol at anybody.
- Ensure air weapons to be safe and unloaded at all times away from firing point and .22 rifles to have BREECH FLAGS INSERTED AT ALL TIMES except when firing.
- Wear ear defenders and are advised to wash hands after shooting.
- Endeavour to shoot only their target and try not to cross shoot.
- Stay quiet and still until other shooters have finished and not to talk or disturb those shooting.
- Report any accidents, emergencies and problems to the Range Officer and / or Range Warden as soon as possible.
